Argus
Electronics was founded in 1977 and began by designing and
manufacturing electronic 999 dialing machines for the security
industry. We then developed a range of plug-in electronic
timers which were distributed by various companies under the
‘Pennine Timer’ label, we still make today the Mk 3 version
of these timers.
In
1993 we moved into our current modern single storey premises
of 1600 square feet, situated in the Pennine village of Greenfield
near the Lancashire / Yorkshire border, with easy access to
the M1, M6 and M62 motorways.
We
are a family owned company; Geoffrey Hilton, an electronics
graduate of Liverpool University is the technical partner,
and Norma, his wife, is the commercial and production partner.
We
offer a bespoke design, development and manufacturing service,
particularly for 'non-electronic' companies who either use
them in their products, or sell them on under their own brand
name.
We
have a CAD design system and fully computerised stock control
and bill of materials system for a fast efficient service.
The PCBs we design into our products cover all types; single
sided, multilayer and surface mount, and the PCB assembly
is all done by hand by our skilled personnel. Our long experience
in this business and the high standard of workmanship combine
to make reliable quality products.
Our
diverse product range includes timers, temperature controllers,
current sense units, pH controllers, thermometers, level controllers,
gas leak detectors, flue gas analysers, fire display panels,
